Hello and thank you for stopping by this first instalment of my blog.

My name is Grace and I live with my husband and two small children in southern England. We have been restoring a 18th century chalk cob, thatched cottage for the past 5 years and we have converted our garden into a working cottage garden with edible plants and a small cutting garden. We garden organically and are very interested in permaculture principles.

We are all about living slowly and having strong seasonal rhythms, celebrating the festivals of the year and forging memories. I often forage for food and medicinal herbs from the surrounding countryside and try an incorporate these into our daily lives.

In these pages I aim to write about:

- eco living

- seasonal inspiration

- slowing down

- zero waste swaps

- non-toxic cleaning

- natural skincare

- and much more

It will be a representation of my own journey in trying to tread lighter on this earth and in sharing I hope that I can help others who are on a similar path.

I am based in the Test Valley of Hampshire, UK so some of my experiences and advice will be north hemisphere and UK centric but other topics are more general.

If you have any questions or specific subjects you would like me to expand upon please do get in touch, I would love to hear from you- my email is
